Recognizing the gravity of the crime, Palghar Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil immediately ordered the formation of special investigation teams from the Local Crime Branch (LCB), Palghar, and Tarapur Police Station.
Under the guidance of senior officers, the teams swiftly visited the crime scene, gathered initial information from the complainant and witnesses, and pursued leads obtained through local informants and technical surveillance. Their rapid efforts led to the detention of Ankesh Vilas Savare, a 22-year-old local resident. During interrogation, Savare confessed to the murder, stating his motive was anger towards the victim for causing disputes with his mother. Based on his confession, he was arrested on May 20.
Police also suspect the possibility of sexual assault in the case. Further investigations are being conducted under the supervision of Vikas Naik, Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Boisar Division.
This rapid resolution underscores the efficiency and dedication of the Palghar police force in addressing serious crimes and ensuring justice for victims.
