Iran Claims US and Israel Targeting Its Oil Wealth
Iran has accused the United States and Israel of attempting to divide the country in order to take control of its vast oil resources as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said that Washington and Tel Aviv aim to weaken Iran’s sovereignty and ultimately seize its energy wealth. According to the Iranian official, the alleged strategy involves partitioning Iran to gain illegal access to its oil reserves.
Speaking at a press conference in Tehran, Baghaei claimed that Iran had been engaged in diplomatic negotiations before the recent escalation of hostilities.
“They aim at partitioning our country to take illegal possession of our oil riches,” the spokesperson said.
Escalating Conflict in the Middle East
The accusation comes amid growing conflict in the region, with military strikes and retaliatory attacks increasing tensions between Iran and its adversaries.
Recent developments in the conflict have led to significant casualties and damage across the region, raising fears of a wider war in the Middle East.
Iran has accused the United States and Israel of launching attacks on key infrastructure and military targets, while Washington and Tel Aviv argue that their actions are aimed at preventing security threats.
Iran Warns of Broader Strategy to Control Global Energy
Iranian officials also claimed that the alleged plan is part of a broader strategy by the United States to control global energy resources.
According to Tehran, gaining control over Iran’s oil reserves — along with resources in other countries — would give Washington a significant share of the world’s energy supply.
Iran is one of the world’s major oil producers and holds some of the largest proven oil reserves globally, making it strategically important in the global energy market.
Tehran Says It Will Defend Its Sovereignty
Iran has insisted that it will defend its territory and sovereignty against any external attempts to weaken the country.
Officials in Tehran say the country is prepared to respond to military pressure while continuing to accuse the United States and Israel of fueling instability in the region.
At the same time, analysts warn that further escalation could disrupt global oil markets and increase geopolitical tensions worldwide.
Global Concerns Over Oil and Regional Stability
The conflict has also raised concerns in global energy markets. Analysts warn that attacks on major oil export facilities or shipping routes in the region could severely impact global oil supply and cause sharp price increases.
With the Middle East responsible for a large portion of the world’s energy supply, the situation remains closely monitored by governments and markets worldwide.
